“I came [to UGA] as a first-generation student not sure about anything, but I wanted to do everything. As I walked to the downstairs area of Boggs Hall on the first day I moved in, and I was greeted by RA Bob and RA Will playing ping-pong. That was the beginning of the impact residential living has had on my collegiate experience. The first day, the first hour, I found community. Since then, I have participated in community council, RHA, NRHH, and I will be an RA this upcoming fall. I have been given the opportunity to meet new people, see new things and feel like I belong. Living on campus has impacted me more than I would’ve ever thought possible. Housing isn’t just represented by the buildings. It’s represented by the people, the community and the personal growth I have felt. Housing represented as one word that comes to mind: home.”
