Recreational Sports

FY25 HIGHLIGHTS:

Recreational Sports fosters the well-being of students and the UGA community through diverse recreation experiences, promoting healthy lifestyle choices by providing development, growth, and education for the University of Georgia through the spirit of recreation.

1M+ TOTAL VISITS

to Ramsey Student Center and Pound Hall.

2,975 club sports participants

Club Sports also saw 57 club events hosted, 1,600 intramural teams, 6,400 unique intramural participants and 3,659 intramural games.

12,727 attended group fitness classes

Fitness and Wellness also saw 148 outreach events and 1,673 total personal training sessions. 88% of all group fitness participants responded “Yes” to their levels of well-being increasing.

1,400+ outdoor trip and clinic participants

Outdoor Recreational Sports also saw 3,951 total climbing wall participants, 1,024 total challenge course participants and 1,290 items rented from the Outdoor Recreational Sports center.

25 Major Events

hosted by Aquatics, including the 2025 SEC Swim and Dive championships.

$8,000+ awarded in scholarships

including 5 $1,000 student scholarships via annual Rec Sports Student Fund Scholarship Golf Tournament, 3 $1,250 student scholarships from Stafford Family Scholarship Fund, 30 intramural play pass scholarships, 40 outdoor recreational trip scholarships and 128 fitness and wellness group fitness pass scholarships

Plus, it’s given me the chance to stay active and healthy through sports and other activities. Overall, it’s made my college life a lot better and more balanced.”
