Global Student Engagement
FY25 HIGHLIGHTS:
Global Student Engagement (GSE), part of the Center for Global and Cultural Student Engagement (CGCSE), enhances students college experience through programs and services focused around internationalization, transition, support, and engagement for the UGA community.
20,000+ participants
in GSE’s events, including International Coffee Hour (52nd year), International Education Month, and International Street Festival (26th year).
130+ participants
involved in Global Buddies, a program re-introduced this year that pairs domestic and international students for friendship and cross-cultural learning.
$10,811 gifted
by the Parent Leadership Council to support the International Student Orientation and World Leader programs, ensuring the continuity of student support and leadership development.
“From the perspective of an orientee and a world leader, I genuinely believe that without the Global Student Engagement (GSE) programs, many crucial discussions and details about life at UGA would be overlooked, such as navigating immigration checklists versus understanding tax obligations. Moreover, coming from India, where the education system differs significantly from that in the United States, I found each component of the orientation thoughtfully designed to prepare me for what lies ahead as a student here at UGA. On the other hand, serving as a world leader is an experience I think every UGA student should have. It greatly facilitates cultural exchange and fosters a deep respect for the diverse student body at UGA.”

“CSE has served as a home during my time at UGA. From the moment I arrived, the Black Male Leadership Society grounded me and pushed me to grow. That foundation carried me from First-Year Council member to President in my senior year, enriching every aspect of my college experience.”
